COHSWAFS FOOD SECURITY PROJECT

We are delighted to embark on our first food security project to help the people of Bomo community to meet their nutritional needs at a moderate cost with the help of people who care about a better living conditions of the most vulnerable persons in local communities and the world at large. As we embark on this maiden project, we hope to sustain it. To be able to do so we call on all the proponents of humanism to come to our aid to enable us achieve the common good which we all owe to the most vulnerable humans in the light of humanity. Awareness on the dangers of pollution of water bodies via open defecation in Samaru community Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Go team report. 25th July 2023, 9:00am -2:00pm Name of project: Awareness on the dangers of pollution of water bodies via open defecation in Samaru community Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Number of volunteers: four persons volunteered on the sensitization exercise. Number of hours dedicated: 6hours. Introduction: Team COHSWAFS visited Samaru community to sensitize them on the dangers of water pollution by open defecation. We took time out to investigate one of the important streams in the community for pollutants and the possible ways of making it free of the pollutants. A popular slaughter slab in Samaru uses the stream to dispose animal wastes and also wash their products. We approached them and talked to them to see reasons why the stream should not be subjected to such level of pollution. The stream is a very important source of water for the community dwellers.
