BOMO COMMUNITY GETS HYBRID SEEDS FROM COHSWAFS VIA NPIC

We paid a visit to the peaceful and hard working people of Bomo community in Zaria Kaduna state to deliver hybrid 🌽 seeds that are genetically modified to withstand unfavorable whether conditions and also guarantee high yield. The seeds are tailor made to mature early and resist pests to eliminate the use of pesticides. We also dialogued  and addressed other important issues. Awareness on the dangers of pollution of water bodies via open defecation in Samaru community Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Go team report. 25th July 2023, 9:00am -2:00pm Name of project: Awareness on the dangers of pollution of water bodies via open defecation in Samaru community Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Number of volunteers: four persons volunteered on the sensitization exercise. Number of hours dedicated: 6hours. Introduction: Team COHSWAFS visited Samaru community to sensitize them on the dangers of water pollution by open defecation. We took time out to investigate one of the important streams in the community for pollutants and the possible ways of making it free of the pollutants. A popular slaughter slab in Samaru uses the stream to dispose animal wastes and also wash their products. We approached them and talked to them to see reasons why the stream should not be subjected to such level of pollution. The stream is a very important source of water for the community dwellers.
