The scourge called water pollution!

It is a well known fact that water is made up of the two most essential building blocks of life. 75% of human body is made up of water which is similar to the source of our origin, planet earth. The essentiality of the most important liquid can never be exhausted. A plethora of other complex applications of water abound, it's basic value to the sustainability of life is more universal to humans irrespective of race and social standing.
Life as an ecosystem is tied to the quality and quantity of water that is available within and outside of us. The quality and quantity within us is solely dependent on what is available in our environment. All life forms depend on the accessible quality and quantity of water. As humans, we decide on these two factors that determine the quality of life we hope to give ourselves and also bequeath to our future generations that would proceed us.
There has been a trajectory of decline in the condition of water bodies in our environments.
Water pollution is the most worrisome menace, especially in developing countries. Water bodies are polluted in myriad ways that leaves them grossly unusable in any form by humans. Apart from humans been unable to access these polluted water bodies, pollution also destroys other life forms that further worsen the pollution problems. The ecosystem is upset ultimately contributing to the menace of global warming.
Inasmuch as humans are to be held responsible for the damage we are experiencing in our planet today, we cannot do so without ruling out certain inevitable factors that result to the activities that put some humans in a position to cause such damage.
Inaccessibility of of clean water and other facilities that could help mitigate the pollution of our water bodies play a major role in the destruction of the aqua world. The scourge of open defecation has contributed immensely to the pollution of water bodies to no small measure. Studies by world health organization has highlighted the dangers of open defecation to the prevalence of water borne diseases and has also ranked countries according to how much they have contributed to the menace.
One of the ways our water bodies can be kept safe is to help extremely indigent communities to build modern toilets or educate them on the importance of having a modern toilet. Practices such as the use of chemicals in fishing and other farm practices must be regulated. This can be done by creating awareness to government regulatory bodies to wake up to their responsibility to checking the excessive use of harmful chemicals.
Clean water sources such as construction of boreholes to grossly underserved communities and provision of safety tanks to give them access to clean water to prevent undue use and subsequent pollution of natural water sources.
Committee Of Humanists For Safe Water And Food Sustenance (COHSWAFS) has a cutting edge plan to wade into the prevalent water and food crisis plaguing mostly the poorest of the poor within the local communities of it's establishment. Let's join hands and beat the factors that are putting humans in the position to harm it's environment that turns around to harm them in the year 2023 and beyond.
It's upon us all to do everything within our reach to uphold human Dignity.
